Kings, spanish, and chopper blues are the order of the day. The blues and spanish are hitting gotcha plugs and the blues are also being caught on bottom rigs, mostly on cut bait. All piers are reporting nice catches of spanish and big chopper bluefish. I think all three Topsail Island Piers have landed kings, but it's not confirmed. Nice catches of virginia mullets are coming over the pier rails at night. Saturday, I saw the first virginia mullet I have seen caught in the surf. Bait was cut shrimp. Maybe it's time to go surf fishing......
