The Sea View Pier reported the first king strike of the season on Monday. Unfortunately it wasn't landed. The blue bite turned on about 7pm Monday. Reports are every cast caught a fish. There was one Chopper Blue reported caught on a gotcha plug. The mullet bite was slow all day Monday, but picked up a bit Monday night.

Surf City Pier reported lots of blues with a few small spanish Saturday, and chopper blues Sunday. The mullet bite is slow, but a bit better at night.

Surf fishing is really slow with the only action I am aware of at the south end near New Topsail Inlet. Red drum have been caught near the inlet and in the sound.
