Surf fishing around Topsail slowed a bit yesterday. There were a few chopper blues around, but down from earlier in the week. A few mullets at mostly at night. On the piers, a few drum & sheepshead, Blues & Spanish are still hitting early morning & late afternoon, catching a few nice pompano, sea mullets at night. Seaview reports first legal cobia of the year on May 23. Surf City Pier reports a few blues and spanish in the early am and right at dark. Gotcha plugs. Charter captains are catching reds behind Lee Island.
