Hello from Surf City! I received an update from Al at North Carolina Pier Fishing. As you may know, Al is working to increase public knowledge about our disappearing fishing piers in North Carolina. The town of Oak Island has been interested in purchasing the pier to keep it from being torn down and replaced with condos, but has had trouble finding funding for the purchase. The state has now stepped in and promised a grant to Oak Island to help with the purchase. Read the whole story on Al's site. Click on the link below.
