2008 NC Recreational Coastal Waters Guide
Hello from Topsail Beach! I am hearing that a few, very few small sea mullets are showing up in the surf, and I am assuming off the piers as well. Cut shrimp has been the productive bait. I have been to the sound a few times this week but I haven't gotten any hits on mirro-lure or grubs [Gulp]. We have full sun today and this should help warm the water a bit. We have NE winds, that won't help with the warming. We need good south wind to help the sun warm the water. The average water temp in the area is 54*. So things should start to happen soon. If you are out there flinging lead or lures, Good Luck! Let us know how you do.
