Topsail Area Charter Boats
2009 NC Recreational Coastal Waters Guide
Hello from Topsail Beach! Topsail Island's inlets are in need of attention from the Corps.of Engineers. They are way behind on the dredging schedule, and New Topsail Inlet is about to fill up. There was one confirmed capsize in the inlet this weekend, and another reported that I haven't been able to confirm. One report says the low tide depth at some spots where the buoys are is only a foot deep at low tide when it should be eight feet. Please contact your representatives and request the inlets be made a priority. Our coastal economy is dependent on ocean access using our inlets. Let's not loose this valuable resource. Two more boats capsize or run aground in what used to be the New Topsail Inlet. By the Grace of God, no serious injuries. The Coast Guard buoy tender ran aground while trying to remove the buoy! Something needs to be done! Be very cautious!
Till next time....
Tight lines!
