I took a couple days off from guiding to fish the final leg of the Redfish Action Series in Beaufort, NC. My tournament boat is in the shop with some motor issues so I took the skiff up to Beaufort. With max speed in the skiff at 30 mph it eliminated us from running back to Topsail. I covered a lot of water and found two nice schools of upper and over slot fish along with several other singles and pods of fish. We popped our first two fish within 15 minutes of getting to our first spot. After one more cast we had two nearly perfect 27" fish. The fish were perfect in length, but were very skinny. We searched the rest of the day to upgrade to heavier fish without success. Our fish weighed 12.98 lbs and landed us in 3rd place for the tournament. With this strong finish we were able to capture the 2012 Redfish Action Series Championship.
Now to our local fishing: Fishing has been good from Southport to Sneads Ferry and everywhere in between. We are catching redfish, trout, flounder, and jacks on topwater lures, spoons, and soft plastics.
Book a charter now for some great inshore action!

ReplyDeleteYour shots make it look appealing. Nice blog work. I came across your blog while “blog surfing” using the Next Blog button on the Nav Bar located at the top of my blogger.com site. I frequently just travel around looking for other blogs which exist on the Internet, and the various, creative ways in which people express themselves. Thanks for sharing.
