Hello from Topsail Beach!
My grandson and myself fished Surf City Ocean Pier last night and the sharks were thick. I'm talking about 4 and 5 footers in knee deep water, not 50 feet from swimmers playing in the surf after dusk. What are they thinking????? It was crazy. We counted four sharks, at once, so don't know how many more there were that we couldn't count. Also in attendance were huge rays, at least a dozen. We didn't catch much, just small blues and even smaller croakers. But about dawn the larger blues moved in, and using gotcha plugs, we caught close to our limit, and even one 18 inch spanish. This was Zack's first time fishing with gotchas, and now he is hooked! We had much fun!
