"Be Vewy, Vewy, Quiet.....We're Hunting Muwwets!"
I saw the first sea mullet of the season today. It was caught on fresh shrimp in the surf. The angler said he had just begun fishing, and was looking for puffers. He had a bite while we were talking, and started reeling in his catch. He commented that he didn't think it was a shark, "Don't feel like a shark." We thought it was a puffer. Imagine our surprise when we saw a 8 inch sea mullet on the hook. Gotta go fishin'!
On the inside, a few keeper flounder have been caught from the free pier at Surf City' Surfside Park. They have been caught on cut shrimp, gulp soft baits, and mud minnows. Gotta go fishin'!

hey johnny....you mentioned the surf city surfside park where the "free" fishing pier was at....where exactly is the paek located.....i have been to surf city many times and may have been by this place and didnt even know it....thanks dude.!! shoot me an email at goodolboy65@alltel.net

Hey Joel, the park I am speaking bout is on the right, just as you cross the turning bridge. (Across from Max's Pizza). I went down yesterday afternoon. Didn't catch anything, but witnessed a school of red drum cruzin' the water. There were about 20 fish, probably 15 to 20 inches long. They would charge my bait, but no takers. Had fun playing with them even though I didn't catch anything.
